Celebrating Christmas
"So
now is come our joyous feast. Let every man be jolly. Each room
with ivy leaves is dressed, and every post with holly"
These words, written over a hundred years ago, illustrate that happily,
not much has changed about Christmas. December is a magical month,
a time of goodwill and family gatherings.
And
though its real significance is religious, most Singaporeans look
at Christmas through the eyes of children - Santa Claus, mistletoe,
gifts, parties, turkey and good food, carol singing, and of course,
the Christmas
tree.
